Rental Terms & Conditions

Effective October 2026. These terms apply to every Dumpster Retrievers rental. Questions? Call (603) 575-9106 or ask on your quote request before you book.

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern all dumpster rentals and related services provided by Dumpster Retrievers LLC ("Dumpster Retrievers," "Company," "we," "us," or "our"). By ordering, accepting delivery of, using, or permitting the use of a Dumpster Retrievers container, the customer ("Customer") agrees to these Terms.

1. Rental Pricing, Rental Period & Included Weight

The quoted rental price includes one delivery, one pickup, the agreed rental period, and the disposal allowance specified in the Customer's order or booking confirmation.

Unless otherwise stated in the Customer's order:

15-Yard Dumpster: $675
20-Yard Dumpster: $775

Scheduled delivery, pickup, exchange, and placement dates and times are estimates and are subject to Dumpster Retrievers' routing, equipment, staffing, safety, weather, traffic, disposal-facility, and other operational requirements. Dumpster Retrievers may, upon reasonable notice to Customer when practicable, change the scheduled service date or time, delay service by one or more days, or change the delivery, pickup, or placement location when reasonably necessary to safely and efficiently provide service or to comply with applicable law.

If Dumpster Retrievers changes a requested placement location, it will use reasonable efforts to place the dumpster at an alternative location authorized by Customer or reasonably suitable based on site conditions. Customer shall promptly provide any revised access instructions or placement authorization reasonably requested by Dumpster Retrievers. A delay, rescheduling, or location change under this provision will not constitute a breach of these Terms, and Customer will not be charged an additional fee solely because of a rescheduling caused by Dumpster Retrievers. If Dumpster Retrievers is unable to provide the rental service within a reasonable time after a material delay, Customer may cancel the affected service and receive a refund of prepaid amounts for services not performed. The applicable included weight allowance will be identified at the time of booking in the booking confirmation.

Material exceeding the included weight allowance will be charged at $250.00 per ton, prorated based upon actual excess weight.

Dumpster weights are determined using the certified or otherwise commercially accepted scale of the disposal or transfer facility selected by Dumpster Retrievers. The disposal facility's recorded weight shall be considered the final weight for billing purposes absent an obvious error.

2. Disposal & Facility Charges

Dumpster Retrievers uses licensed disposal and transfer facilities. Acceptance requirements, disposal fees, environmental charges and special-item charges may vary by facility. Dumpster Retrievers shall have sole discretion to select the landfill, transfer station, recycling facility, or other disposal facility to which any dumpster contents are transported, based on operational, safety, legal, capacity, routing, and facility-acceptance considerations. Customer shall remain responsible for all disposal, facility, environmental, handling, sorting, contamination, special-waste, transportation, and other charges attributable to the Customer's waste stream, including charges imposed by the facility selected by Dumpster Retrievers.

Such charges are separate from normal tonnage overage charges.

3. Prohibited Materials

Customer may place ordinary non-hazardous solid waste, construction and demolition debris, household junk, and other materials accepted by the receiving disposal facility in the dumpster, subject to these Terms and any instructions provided by Dumpster Retrievers. Customer shall not place, and shall ensure that no other person places, any prohibited material in the dumpster without Dumpster Retrievers' prior written approval.

Prohibited materials include:

  • Hazardous, corrosive or toxic waste or materials
  • Asbestos or suspected asbestos-containing material
  • Gasoline, diesel fuel or other fuels
  • Motor oil or other automotive fluids
  • Wet paint, solvents, thinners or chemicals
  • Pesticides or herbicides
  • Medical or infectious waste
  • Radioactive material
  • Explosives, ammunition or fireworks
  • Batteries, including lithium-ion batteries
  • Fluorescent bulbs or mercury-containing items
  • Bulk liquids of any kind
  • Any other material prohibited by applicable federal, state or local law or by the disposal facility receiving the load

Lithium-ion batteries are strictly prohibited. Customers should pay particular attention to rechargeable batteries contained in power tools, electronics, toys and similar devices.

The Customer is responsible for identifying questionable materials before placing them in the dumpster.

When in doubt, contact Dumpster Retrievers before disposing of the item.

Customer shall be responsible for all costs, charges, penalties, transportation, sorting, removal, handling, storage, cleanup, and lawful disposal expenses arising from prohibited or unacceptable materials placed in the dumpster, whether placed by Customer or any third party.

4. Special Items & Additional Charges

Certain materials may be accepted only with prior approval and may result in additional charges, including but not limited to:

  • Tires - $35 per tire
  • Mattresses and box springs - $50 Per mattress or boxspring
  • Propane tanks (BBQ sized 20 LBS) - $45 per tank
  • Propane tanks (Large over 20 LBS) – $125 per tank
  • Appliances - $45 per item
  • Electronics - $45 per item
  • Televisions and monitors - $45 per item
  • Refrigerant-containing appliances – $45 per item
  • Large furniture - $45 per item

Customer must notify Dumpster Retrievers before placing any such material in the container. Dumpster Retrievers retains sole discretion to accept or reject any special item. If any special item is discovered in the Customer's load without prior approval, or a disposal facility assesses Dumpster Retrievers an additional fee because one of these items is discovered in a Customer's load, Customer shall pay the stated charge, any facility-imposed charge, and Dumpster Retrievers reasonable costs of handling, transportation, sorting, removal, administration, and lawful disposal. These charges are in addition to the rental price and any applicable tonnage overage charges.

5. Heavy Materials

Concrete, dirt, brick, stone, asphalt, shingles and other dense materials can cause a dumpster to exceed safe or legal transportation weights before the dumpster is physically full.

These materials may therefore require a dedicated heavy-material dumpster or specific fill limit.

Customer shall not load heavy materials without prior approval from Dumpster Retrievers.

Dumpster Retrievers may refuse, in its sole discretion, to transport an overloaded or unsafe container until sufficient material has been removed.

Any costs associated with an overweight container, including additional trips, unloading, handling, regulatory penalties or delays, are the Customer's responsibility.

6. Maximum Fill Level

Materials must not extend above the top edge of the dumpster.

Nothing may protrude from the sides, front, rear or top of the container, and the container must be capable of being safely covered, secured, and transported in compliance with applicable law.

Dumpster Retrievers reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to refuse transportation of any container that our driver determines is overloaded, improperly loaded or unsafe to transport.

Customer shall promptly remove or rearrange material as necessary to correct the condition.

If service cannot be completed because of an overloaded or improperly loaded container, additional trip or service charges of $350 plus cost of tipping shall apply unless otherwise agreed to in writing by the parties.

7. Access to the Dumpster

Customer shall provide Dumpster Retrievers with safe and unobstructed access to the dumpster for delivery, exchange and pickup.

Customer shall ensure that gates are unlocked, vehicles, equipment, and materials are moved, and snow, ice, mud, low-hanging branches, overhead obstructions, and other conditions within Customer's reasonable control do not prevent safe access or retrieval. Customer shall provide Dumpster Retrievers with any necessary access instructions, gate codes, or other information before the scheduled service and shall cooperate with Dumpster Retrievers' delivery, pickup, inspection, and disposal requirements. Dumpster Retrievers may decline or discontinue delivery, pickup, transport, disposal, or other service, or suspend performance, if its driver reasonably determines that access is unavailable or that access, loading, or site conditions are unsafe, unlawful, or likely to cause damage to persons, property, or equipment, without waiving Customer's payment and cost obligations. If Dumpster Retrievers is unable to complete scheduled service due to conditions within Customer's reasonable control, Customer may be charged a dry-run or trip charge of $250.00, plus any reasonable additional charges for a return trip or rescheduled service. No such charge will apply to the extent the failure to complete service results from Dumpster Retrievers' negligence or willful misconduct.

8. Placement & Property Damage

Customer is responsible for selecting and authorizing the dumpster placement location. Customer represents that the requested placement area and access route are capable of supporting the weight of the truck, dumpster and its contents.

Dumpster Retrievers will make reasonable efforts to avoid property damage; however, dumpsters and heavy trucks can damage pavement, asphalt, concrete, lawns, driveways, septic systems, underground utilities and other surfaces or structures.

Dumpster Retrievers will use reasonable care in delivering, placing, servicing, and retrieving the dumpster. Customer acknowledges, however, that dumpsters and heavy vehicles may cause ordinary wear or damage to pavement, asphalt, concrete, lawns, driveways, curbs, and similar surfaces, particularly where the placement location or access route is selected or approved by Customer. To the extent permitted by law, Dumpster Retrievers is not responsible for such damage resulting from placement or operation at a location selected or approved by Customer, except to the extent caused by Dumpster Retrievers' negligence or willful misconduct.

Customer may use boards or other suitable protective materials to help protect surfaces, and Dumpster Retrievers may recommend reasonable protective measures based on site conditions. Dumpster Retrievers may decline a requested placement location if its driver determines that placement cannot be completed safely or may cause unreasonable risk of damage.

9. Underground & Overhead Conditions

Customer is responsible for identifying and disclosing to Dumpster Retrievers before delivery or service any known or reasonably discoverable underground or concealed conditions in or near the requested placement area or access route, including septic tanks, septic fields, irrigation systems, underground utilities, wells, culverts, drainage systems, vaults, and weak or unstable ground.

Customer must also ensure adequate clearance from overhead wires, branches, structures and other overhead obstructions for safe delivery, pickup, and transport.

Dumpster Retrievers is not responsible for damage arising from undisclosed or concealed underground conditions or inadequate overhead clearance. Dumpster Retrievers may decline, suspend, or reschedule placement, pickup, or other service if its driver reasonably determines that site conditions present a safety risk or an unreasonable risk of damage to persons, property, or equipment. Customer shall be responsible for reasonable dry-run, return-trip, or rescheduling charges resulting from conditions within Customer's reasonable control.

10. Dumpster Relocation

Customer shall not move, tow, push, drag, lift or otherwise relocate a Dumpster Retrievers container without prior authorization from Dumpster Retrievers.

Customer is responsible for all damage caused by unauthorized movement, attempted movement, or manipulation of the dumpster by Customer or any person acting on Customer's behalf or with Customer's permission.

11. Rental Period & Additional Days

The standard rental period will be identified at the time of booking.

Customer must request extensions before the scheduled pickup date. Extensions are subject to Dumpster Retrievers' availability and approval and may be charged at the applicable daily rental rate disclosed at booking or otherwise agreed in writing. After expiration of the agreed rental period or termination of the rental, Customer must immediately make the dumpster available for pickup and must not obstruct or refuse its retrieval. Customer shall pay continuing rental charges and all reasonable recovery, transportation, and other costs caused by any holdover, delayed access, or failure to release the dumpster.

Dumpster Retrievers reserves the right to retrieve a dumpster following expiration of the agreed rental period or termination of the rental.

12. Damage to Equipment

Customer is solely responsible for all damage to the dumpster beyond ordinary wear and tear occurring while the container is in the Customer's possession or control.

Examples include damage caused by:

  • Heavy equipment
  • Unauthorized relocation
  • Fire
  • Paint or chemicals
  • Vandalism
  • Improper loading
  • Excessive weight
  • Cutting, welding or modification
  • Vehicles or machinery striking the dumpster

Customer may be charged the reasonable cost of repair or replacement.

13. Fire & Burning

No material may be burned inside a Dumpster Retrievers container.

Hot ashes, smoldering materials or other materials capable of causing fire are prohibited.

Customer is responsible for damage caused by fire or heat occurring while the dumpster is under Customer's control.

14. Third-Party Dumping

Customer is responsible for all materials contained in the dumpster during the rental period, including materials placed in the dumpster by neighbors, contractors, employees, subcontractors, trespassers or other third parties.

Customer should monitor the container and prevent unauthorized use whenever reasonably possible.

Unauthorized third-party dumping does not relieve Customer of responsibility for disposal charges, overage charges, charges for special-item or prohibited materials contained in the load, contamination, rejected-load, cleanup, handling, transportation, or other charges attributable to materials in the dumpster.

Customer should promptly notify Dumpster Retrievers upon discovering suspected unauthorized dumping; however, Dumpster Retrievers is not obligated to investigate, remove, or segregate materials.

15. Rejected Loads

If a transfer station, landfill or other disposal facility refuses a load because of prohibited, hazardous, contaminated or improperly mixed material placed in the container, Customer is responsible for all resulting costs.

These may include transportation, additional hauling, sorting, unloading, special handling, storage, environmental charges and lawful disposal of the rejected material.

16. Weight & Disposal Documentation

Upon reasonable request, Dumpster Retrievers may provide available documentation regarding the disposal weight used to calculate a Customer's tonnage overage.

Dumpster Retrievers' billing will be based upon the weight recorded by the disposal facility used for the load.

Dumpster Retrievers may photograph or record dumpsters and their contents at delivery, pickup, transport, and disposal for documentation, safety, billing, and dispute-resolution purposes.

17. Payment Authorization

Customer agrees to pay the rental price when due at booking and all additional charges incurred under these Terms when due, including applicable:

  • Weight overages
  • Extended rental charges
  • Special-item disposal charges
  • Dry-run charges
  • Rejected-load charges
  • Damage charges
  • Prohibited-material charges
  • Additional transportation or handling charges

Customer authorizes Dumpster Retrievers to charge the payment method provided at booking for the rental price and any additional amounts properly due under these Terms. For reasonable costs arising from materials placed in the dumpster that are not known at booking, including but not limited to inspection, testing, sorting, transportation, remediation, regulatory response, disposal, facility charges, penalties, and disposal-related charges determined after pickup, Dumpster Retrievers may charge the payment method on file after providing Customer with reasonable notice of the charge.

Customer shall pay reasonable collection costs, attorneys' fees, returned-payment fees, and chargeback-related costs incurred by Dumpster Retrievers in collecting amounts due under these Terms. Customer must notify Dumpster Retrievers in writing of any good-faith billing dispute within 30 days after the charge is made. Customer must not initiate a chargeback or reverse an authorized payment for any amount not timely disputed. Dumpster Retrievers may pursue payment of all undisputed amounts.

18. Cancellation

Cancellation terms and any applicable cancellation fee will be disclosed at booking.

Dumpster Retrievers may cancel, delay, suspend, or reschedule delivery, pickup, exchange, or other service when reasonably necessary because of severe weather, unsafe site or road conditions, equipment breakdown, disposal-facility closure, transportation interruption, governmental action, labor disruption, emergency, changes in disposal requirements, or another event beyond Dumpster Retrievers' reasonable control. Dumpster Retrievers will use reasonable efforts to notify Customer and reschedule service as soon as reasonably practicable. If Dumpster Retrievers cannot provide the scheduled service, Customer's sole remedy is a refund of amounts prepaid for services not performed. Neither party will be liable to the other for delay, failure to perform, or resulting damages caused by such an event, except for payment obligations accrued before the event or damage caused by that party's negligence or willful misconduct.

19. Permits

Customer is responsible for obtaining any permit required for placement of a dumpster on a public street, sidewalk, right-of-way or other regulated location unless Dumpster Retrievers specifically agrees in writing to obtain the permit.

20. Compliance With Law

Customer shall use the dumpster only for lawful purposes and shall comply with applicable federal, New Hampshire and local waste-disposal requirements.

Dumpster Retrievers reserves the right to refuse to transport or dispose of materials that we reasonably believe are unsafe, unlawful or unacceptable to the receiving disposal facility.

21. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, Customer shall defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Dumpster Retrievers and its owners, officers, employees, agents, contractors, and service providers from and against any third-party claim, demand, action, liability, loss, damage, penalty, fine, governmental penalty, cleanup or remediation cost, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) bodily injury, death, or damage to property arising from Customer's use, possession, loading, securing, relocation, or control of the dumpster; (b) materials placed in the dumpster, including prohibited or hazardous materials; (c) Customer's breach of these Terms or failure to obtain required permits or permissions; (d) unsafe, undisclosed, or inadequate site, access, placement, underground, or overhead conditions; (e) any allegation that placement of the dumpster at a location selected, authorized, or controlled by Customer constitutes trespass, encroachment, obstruction, or unauthorized use of another person's property, street, sidewalk, right-of-way, or other area; or (f) the acts or omissions of Customer or Customer's employees, contractors, subcontractors, invitees, tenants, guests, or other persons using or accessing the dumpster with Customer's permission, including negligence or willful misconduct.

Customer's obligations under this provision apply only to the extent a claim is caused by the foregoing matters and do not apply to the extent the claim results from Dumpster Retrievers' negligence, willful misconduct, or violation of applicable law. Dumpster Retrievers shall promptly notify Customer of any claim for which indemnification is sought and shall reasonably cooperate with Customer in the defense of the claim at Customer's expense.

22. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, DUMPSTER RETRIEVERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES, LOSSES, LIABILITIES, CLAIMS, COSTS, OR EXPENSES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS, THE DUMPSTER, OR ANY SERVICES PROVIDED BY DUMPSTER RETRIEVERS, INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; BODILY INJURY, DEATH, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE; LOSS OF USE; LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY; BUSINESS INTERRUPTION; DELAY; DIMINUTION IN VALUE; LOSS OF DATA; OR COSTS OF PROCUREMENT OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS OR SERVICES, WHETHER ARISING IN CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF DUMPSTER RETRIEVERS HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, DUMPSTER RETRIEVERS' TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS, THE DUMPSTER, OR ANY SERVICES PROVIDED BY DUMPSTER RETRIEVERS, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNTS ACTUALLY PAID BY CUSTOMER TO DUMPSTER RETRIEVERS UNDER THESE TERMS FOR THE RENTAL GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

NOTHING IN THIS PROVISION LIMITS OR EXCLUDES LIABILITY TO THE EXTENT SUCH LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION IS PROHIBITED BY APPLICABLE LAW.

23. Changes in Disposal Requirements

Disposal facilities may change their rates, prohibited-material policies and acceptance requirements without notice to Dumpster Retrievers.

Dumpster Retrievers therefore reserves the right to pass through all reasonable costs arising from materials placed in the dumpster, including inspection, testing, sorting, transportation, remediation, regulatory response, disposal, facility charges, and penalties even when the specific charge was not known when the rental was originally booked.

24. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire.

25. Customer Acceptance

By placing an order, making payment, electronically accepting these Terms, or accepting delivery of a Dumpster Retrievers container, Customer acknowledges that Customer has read, understands and agrees to these Terms & Conditions.
